I have heard the cuckoo - but that was a few years before now. I saw a cuckoo many years ago. There is no cuckoo this year and there was no cuckoo last year, nor the year before that. My grandchildren have never heard a real cuckoo. But there are cuckoo flowers coming in my garden. Perhaps they need a new name - blue bells or little blue bells - less poetic but more functional. There's a hint of blue among a lot of green. Can you see. Soon there will be more. There's a hint of colour in the apple trees as well - the blossom is pale pink. Not everything is beautiful. There's work to do in the garden. White paint has gone from the window frames in the shed. They need to be prepared with sandpaper and painted white again. Unfortunately ,some of the wood is rotten. It falls away. I can't get new wood yet.
