It's dreadful weather today and the little dog won't go out. There's nothing good to be seen on the ground or in the sky above us this morning. So, I will think about the things that there are under the ground. Yesterday, we walked to Wheal Uny near Redruth. There are just two engine houses with tall chimneys. There is an un-named shaft as well. (It is plugged now.) But I'd like to know what there is under them all and what was brought out from beneath them. For that I must look somewhere else. You can read more on these websites. I discovered that the mine produced both copper and tin from The Great Flat Lode in its time. I like maps. They show us what there is on the ground. But I return to this little film (by The Virtual Foundry) on "youtube" from time to time. You can see the magnitude of The Great Flat Lode.
